Hm. The nvidia config tools are supposed to add the right modules in the module section. Only the modelines are not recognized - so adding them usually fixes the issue. *scratcheshishead*

Got possibly lost while editing the conf file.

Ah! Wait. I guess you missunderstood me: You don't need to install anything. All you need is to configure your nvidia driver correctly. After that everything is supposed to work. What I meant: On how to do that there's already plenty of information - after a quick search on Ubuntu and problems with ...

First of all: Blender is actually tabbed with the difference that it doesn't use tabs but buttons instead. So you are not that far away - which is good. On the first glimpse it looks quite clean - which is also good. The drawback: Only on the first glimpse. I would say that it is a bit "overtabbed" ...

Re: New User Interface = No Downside At All

The blender developers should change the user interface that has persisted under the same design since blender was created. Its not as if people are already familiar and content with blender's interface. Obviously, completely re-designing the interface would be a totally beneficial change with no d...

Re: Blender adopts a user interface (icon based)

Just wondering if Blender adopts a user interface (icon based) the competition will shake int heir pants including small and big players. I don't think so. There are other things that might be more important like the integration of Blender into existing working pipelines. Many importers and exporte...

Re: Thank's

hi my video card is " 256mb nvidia(R) GeForce(R) 8600M GT " ... so i enabled it. lost the splash screen, lost my 1600 x 1200 display. so i disabled it.. got the 1600x1200 back but the splash screen has gone. Re: blender not starting up new to this linux thing

Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0". intern/ghost/intern/GHOST_WindowX11.cpp:177: X11 glxChooseVisual() failed for OpenGL, verify working openGL system! There you've got your answer. You don't seem to have any OpenGL drivers installed. So install a driver with OpenGL support from your g...

No problem! But if you use blenderartists.org your answer will certainly be answered faster. Here it might even get ignored.

So have fun!

Vista seems to put them not at the same locations if you keep the default installation settings. I haven't really tried Blender on Vista. Just...

Actually not. Scientific simulation is beyond the scope of Blender. Blender is a 3D modeler/ renderer/ animation package like Maya, 3D Studio Max or Cinema 4D. It's meant for creating artwork, movies, special effects and game art. That counts also for Blender's fluid simulation or particle system wh...

You can rename objects in several places. First you've got the possibility to change them under the editing buttons (F9): http://www.kainstein.de/images/Bildschirmphoto65.png Same within the object buttons (F7): http://www.kainstein.de/images/Bildschirmphoto66.png And in addition to that in the "Tra...

Try to set the path to your scripts as yours seemingly aren't at a default location.

For doing so, pull down the top window with the menu bar in it, change to "File Paths" and edit the "Python Scripts" path accordingly. I guess that should fix it.

A new image is a new image that should act as texture - so no uv layout on it. But: If you have a layout then select in the image window "UVs" -> "Scripts" -> "Save UV Face Layout...". Then a dialog appears which asks your for the size, the wireframe size, etc. Then save it and open it in Gimp. Or a...

*lol* In the Gimp directory? Strange issue, which certainly belongs into the "be happy that it's gone and just don't ask why" category. But I'm glad you solved your problem! now alls i have to do is learn how not to suck at using the programme i tried so hard to fix If you solved that latter problem...
