2.4 works fine for me under 10.4.3 with the bone limits. Do you have some keyframes set on the bones? That tends to snap things back into position.

I'm guessing you mean you want to add a 3D object to an already filmed avi rather than just encode an animation. To do the former takes quite a lot of work. You have to do motion tracking of the avi using a camera tracker like Icarus or Voodoo. Then you import the tracked geometry into Blender with ...

I see two different things being argued about. The first is wether its better to alt+click or alt+b, the other is wether there is a preview shown or not. Since alt+click seems more intuitive maybe combining a loop select preview with alt+click might do the trick. Alt+click -> Preview -> Click for c...

It's your sister. I'm fairly certain Zr is the person that 'popped' you out, joeri. :P You mean joeri's my long lost son? My sister put him up for adoption when she saw he looked like this: http://212.187.77.237/people/wp/sillyus/BigWhale600.jpg and I never heard anything since. Incest is just wrong.

Eeekadoodle! Who is Zr 'cos I need to tell him something?

Lol, I love funny error messages: http://img445.imageshack.us/img445/6152/picture10zz.png Reproduce it by making a cube, subsurf level 2, apply modifier. Then decimate modifier to 0.1, then apply. Then go into edit mode. Eeek. I'm not sure it is a problem but if not then maybe the message shouldn't ...

OK update on the hair problem. The deformers work OK except for a particular old mesh, where they have no effect. I have managed to work around it by appending my old data piece by piece to a new file. Maybe one of the CVS builds screwed up the mesh somehow.

Well, the problem with changing the resolution is that you either have an extremely ugly low-poly object that wants to be smooth or you have this really overkill object. You can't model 2000-3000 or lower models with subsurf. Not an entire character that way at least as far as I can tell. Especiall...

I can't seem to get curves deforming the hair. It worked in one of the other releases. The other types of force fields aren't working either.

You could select the armature and duplicate it, then just box select the unwanted bones and delete them.

Re: Splines aka NURBS?

I can't find a way to accuratly model with this system without creating massive ammounts of completely pointless faces. Actually, that's one of the reasons why subsurfs are better than NURBs. If you try to add some local definition to a NURBs object, you find that you have to add much more geometry...

Sounds to me like you are following a Maya tutorial. You can use lattice deformers for squashing a ball. Just make a ball, make a lattice and put the ball inside the lattice and make the lattice the ball's parent. To get vertical squash, keyframe moving the top verts of the lattice down. Then for sq...
