I think that in general the min/max on all buttons should be default but changeble by the user. I've made a proposal for this long time ago. The clip is not the only spot where min or max just does not fit all occasions. You're right. One other limit is the one on subdivision surfaces to level 6. I...

well... the zbuffer in blender is 32 bit already so I don't think it's a zbuf problem...I think it has more to do with the pivot point of the turntable settings- have you tried setting: view & controls->view rotation-> [around active] ? All that does is change the active pivot automatically based o...

I know it's not a big help, but if you thange to ortho mode a think you don't have that problem. Yeah, that's true but it's hard to edit vertices in the right proportions in ortho mode. The only solution I have is to use a camera in blender and look through that. Setting the clip start to 0.001. Th...

Can someone please change the default min camera clip?

This has been driving me nuts since I started using Blender. The render camera in Blender has a minimum clip of zero but the viewport is limited to 0.1. So are buffered shadows but they don't matter so much. Everytime I zoom something close up, the camera keeps obscuring my view. Here is a picture o...

I didn't want to post another thread about this as I'm sure there are a few so I thought I'd add to this one. Sorry that it's a few months old but I've just come to realize the frustration this causes. It definitely takes more clicks to position something the way I want than with other apps. Everyti...

The fix for the executable was still needed but it crashes when launching because the binary is bad. Lol, if you open the binary up in a hex editor, it's just full of URLs. It looks like the developer's browsing history or something. I tried to look for any porno sites he had been visiting :P. Mostl...

There seems to be a bug with this CVS version in that follow path constraints don't work properly. If you parent an object to a path, the constraint doesn't appear in the constraints panel although the constraint works. If you constrain a bone to a path, the constraint appears but it doesn't work - ...

To get it to launch, I had to change permissions on the executable. Just right-click and open package contents and go to contents/macos/blender. Open a terminal and type chmod 755 and drag in the file called blender and hit return. It should launch after that. Thanks for the builds blueGecko, I was ...

Please don't get rid of edge and face loop select preview

I don't know if people have tried out the 2.38 builds and found this but the edge and face loop select modes are missing. They have been replaced by alt-right click and depend on your selection mode. I'm finding this very frustrating for a number of reasons. 1. There is no preview anymore so when I ...

Thanks for the info. I prefer the old way though. I didn't mind that it was a hack, it still worked fine. Now I can't see a preview of what is going to be selected. This makes selecting multiple face loops very frustrating. I used to be able to drag the selection over my models to see if the faceloo...

What has happened to the face- and vertex-loop select?

I noticed it missing from Lukep's build too. Is this a feature change or is it a bug?

Thanks for the build Lukep but I can't find the edge loop select and face loop select. The hotkeys (alt-B, shift-R) don't work either.

I use the makefiles. Almost all methods of building on my box have fits when it comes to getting bFTGL and other freetype libs built, so I just turned internationalization and freetype support OFF. I also turn of the game engine when compiling. Can't you just link with the lib binaries in CVS? That...

Are these builds suitable for everyday use yet? I really want to get using the animation tools but I don't want to end up with bad files.
