Why the hostile tone? I realize you get foolish questions here in bulk but that doesn't mean you have to be curt/rude to everyone who asks a question here. I understand formatted printing, Why though is the vectors repr rounded to the 4th significant digit? Also try n=vector.x then print n. with vec...

Vector and float wierdness

I think I commented on this before but the Mathutils Vector class seems to do some odd things with floats. My original problem was with letters in my floats, but I don't have the offending file with me currently. Today though I was working on something and had more problems. So could someone please ...

I think it should be analagous to the old mesh vert/edge select method i.e. RMB to select a vert (bone handle) and ctrl+alt+RMB to select an edge (Entire bone)...

Check out the Blender.Registry module. It lets you store all kinds of things: lists dicts,strings, functions and even objects...

I just did a test and it seemed to work as I expected:

I went to the render buttons and changed to RGBA and sky to key. Rendered to png and saved somewhere handy. Then go to sequencer and load background, then load png, and finally add alpha over to them. Render with do-sequence and all is well...

composite improvement?

I am currently using blender for photo-compositing at work and I have run into a problem. I have created a 3d duplicate of the terrain in the image I'm using, set it to render shadows only and now my objects cast shadows on the ground :) . The problem comes when I try to create reflections. There is...

spacebar menus

Are there plans to allow scripts to be loaded into the spacebar menus? It would be nice to have appropriate scripts available for each mode. Mesh in edit mode, Object in object mode, armature in pose mode... Also with my window layout import scripts usualy open in my button window, which is too smal...

I tried it too, I guess the ik attribute is read only? Seems odd.

ik is a bool variable of the bone, hasIk() is just a wrapper function for the Bone.bone.ik variable. Try my_bone.ik = 1 to set ik on (and 0 to turn it off).

Sequencer?

I just learned how to use the sequencer a couple of weeks ago. It is truely a great tool and I sugest everyone take the time to learn it. Anyway I was writing a python script the yesterday day and reading the new docs and I realized there is no way to access the sequncer. Is this right?

Would the Ipo evaluate functions help?

from Blender import *

ob = Ipo.Get('ipo')
curve = ob.getCurve('Alpha')
Alpha_at_frame_30 = curve.Evaluate(30)

There is also Ipo.EvaluateOn(time,curvepos). There's also a list of IpoCurve names under Ipo > getCurve in the python docs.

I use obj because practicaly everything uses obj. I can make a model in Wing3D, uv-map it in UVmapper (though i wouldn't), then open it in blender and animate it. 3ds would also be nice if they (discreet) could standerdize it better... Wings, AutoCad, and 3dstudio max read and write it alright but f...

How you say "DOH!"? In the while loop I am decrimenting a negitive number... 1 - (-1) = 2 This creates an infinite lop hence the freeze.... To fix either change cube.LocZ -= -.05 to cube.LocZ += -.05 or -.05 to .05... Also if a script freezes Blender on you I think you can alt-tab over to the consol...

My guess would be its is just the way they wrote their scripts. I always Redraw() when I finish changing geometry. I would bet with these scripts no geometry is generated until you hit create/whatever. Try this: Make a scene with a cube in it named 'Cube' (I'm too lazy to write a cube, and 'Cube' sh...
