I'm on a BA animation course in England at the moment, I have to use Maya for several hours every day, but I used Blender for 2 years in my spare time before I started this course, and it was Blender that got me started in 3D. And which do I prefer?.....Blender, to be honest!!! Yes, Maya has a huge ...

Why ??? Where is the difficulty of copy/paste the code in blender ??? Lol, sadly coding isn't anywhere near that simple!! If we copied and pasted directly, nothing would work. At all. If you were very lucky you'd get a version of Blender that ran anyway without the Nurbana NURBs functionality or a ...

Do you get any error messages or anything when you type ./blender in the console, or does it just hang?

I also own a geforce and, yes, that one shows up Blender with no problems. HOWEVER, I am not convinced that a lot of the blender interface problems are due to the driver and not blender itself. As I said, I have very little problems win BlenderPublisher. It's just the new improved post-source relea...

Hmm, I don't really know if we should be recommending option A mentioned in the first post. I've done some research on that dialog, and it turns out that all it does is force Windows to use the 3D card for less and less stuff. By the time you turn it down 4 notches, I don't think you're actually usi...

Hiya jj2dogs,
To set the envirnment variable, you need to type the following into the shell (possibly the same one you're compiling from? I'm not sure TBH - I'm still a Linux newbie at heart ;) )

Code: Select all

export NAN_NO_OPENAL=true
Hope that helps!

Well, I would imagine that no anon-ftp would break all download services that depend on this, including the project pages :(

Oh well, let's just hope that it gets up and running soon (/me *needs* his dose of source!!!! )

Just as a suggestion, you could try linking (or maybe copying) prlock.h to the same location as blender_plugin_types.h (this seems to be the file that can't find the header file right?). Just a suggestion, probably all wrong knowing me :) . I just say this because I had similar problems with Blender...

Nightly tarballs not working?

Hiya guys, is it just me or aren't the nightly tarballs being built at the mo? (maybe as a result of that site crash?...). Latest one I can find in the repository is 18th August. I hope this doesn't mean that we're stopping them, as they're the only way I have of getting updated code snapshots to my...

Never worked for me either, kept whining about missing DLLs...

I guess a built-in cloth simulator will probably be on the cards at some point for Blender, but I wouldn't expect it anytime soon, frankly, it would need a hell of a lot of work...

JACKPOT!!!! :D :D :D Sorry, just a bit excited, that's all. It turns out it was Windows shares causing problems.
