Could Blender use .mel files?

Well, the title's pretty self-explanatory. I was just wondering the other day if Blender could ever have a system similar to paint effects in Maya. I then thought one step beyond that, and wondered if Blender could ever make use of the .mel files Maya uses for paint effects strokes. So how about it?...

Hey, dude, you forgot Softimage XSI!!!!!!!  Now *that's* what I call a 3D app.... Seriously, though, I think that i/o to other packages would just make Blender the king... No other big 3D app has even tried to do anything like that before (softimage are making moves to, admittedly, but ...

When the CVS is open to the public, i'll submit my changes asap. Then its up to the moderaters to decide if they add my changes to the official source tree. Any word when the CVS tree is going to be opened for writing? Sorry, I haven't heard anything  . I guess this is the last obstacle, real...

Hi Xabigoi, Don't feel bad! Sounds like it was some crap journalist at linuxtoday.com who screwed up, not you. You intentions were good - what more can we say? Besides, it's given us a taster of the Linux community's reaction to Blender.org, and I feel that it's a very important one (99% of open sou...

Why doesn't blender.org say what Blender is?????

I was just perusing linuxtoday.com, when I noticed a story on Blender. News spreads fast, dunnit? Anyway, I flicked through the comments on the article that they'd written, and there was one recurring theme - 'What is Blender? I went to Blender.org, and it doesn't say!!!' . Now, a load of fla...

Erm... ...at the risk of sounding stupid (what else is new?), where can we get hold of wincvs? I tried wincvs.org ('couldn't find server') and searches on google (only found wincvs tips, rather than the binary :x ). Thanks for any help, guys!

I think that this feature has been largely forgotten in the rush to improve Blender's sources, actually  Audio would be really cool, definitely. Somewhere down the line, chromakeying could be pretty nice to have as well...mmmm, just imagine that - a full opensource 3D suite complete with comos...

Character Dynamics

Hiya guys. I'm not really too sure where to start, so forgive me if I reference another post at Elysiun: http://www.elysiun.com/viewtopic.php?p=49660 That post explains the basics of what I'm thinking of. This is where I'd like to begin a discussion on whether it's possible, and how to code it in. S...
