With your mesh selected, and in edit mode (TABkey), under the edit buttons (F9), there are three buttons under the mesh section called "Centre", "Centre New" and "Centre Cursor". Hovering your cursor over each brings up a tooltip which describes each's function... I think you'll find what you need. ...

Maybe a pic to illustrate:

As you can see its quite a trick to achieve a smooth transition from high level crease to low or no crease...

What you mean is, the ability to animate a crease? No, not animated (tho that would be cool, too!) Just static crease variance from one end of an edge (vertex) to the other, controlled either linearly or variably (with a bezier-like setting - similar to the way IPO curves are now...) I gave the exa...

Feature request: variable edge creases

Sorry if this has been requested before... I searched but didn't find anything on it. During a recent project involving subsurf'd meshes I found that I wanted to gradually increase the crease "percentage" of a series of edges from one end of it to another. I had difficulty because each edge in the s...

File naming conventions change request (STL import only?)

Blender team: I have a request to make regarding the STL import script bundled with blender. <snip>[ranting removed]<snip> [edited] I was using the STL importer in standard 2.34 release and it changed the current file name I was working on. This is probably an issue with the STL importer that is in ...

So that's the cause of slow AO in OSA render, but it affected other tracing rendering too. It wasn't in the unified render though... The fix was committed, I'lll ask coders to upload versions in the testing build forum. There are significant quality differences btwn the current 2.34 slow render (wi...

I agree with bertram and konrad_ha... it is important and it would be great to have in blender's renderer. If implemented, it definitely needs to be animate-able (IPOs for the focal point, or parent to an empty.) I'm reluctant to use yafray's DOF in an animation (yes, I'm a very patient person, occa...

You should see the animated versions! Really cool stuff! (they're linked on Elysiun somewhere... along with the blend files to download...)

eeshlo, thanks for your reply. I know this stuff is all in the pipeline and that its not that high a priority - so thanks for letting us know about your plans! I like the system of separate files for the meshes that don't change over the course of the animation (I think Yable has that feature...?) I...

I tried an experiement last night: I enabled the "xml" button (badly named, btw...) and went to frame 1 and hit f12, then canceled (ctrl-c) the render when it began the "parse" stage. I then renamed the YBTest.xml output file to reflect the frame number, then edited the file to save the .tga image w...

Yafray: export series of XML files of an animation?

Is it possible to export all the frames of an animation to a series of sequentially numbered XML files using the current Yafray 0.0.7 / Blender 2.34 combo? (Like Yable can do... to enable rendering from the command prompt outside of Blender.) This would allow me to continue to work in Blender while ...

In 2.34 it will be under the Import menu. Broken thankfully changed it in CVS. Good to know! Just another quick "notice" to the coder/implementer of the STL stuff: There seems to be some discrepancy in the binary file versions of the STL implementation and that of SolidWorks'. When trying to import...

Okay, nevermind, all... I've got it working... just using the regular "open" command and selecting the .stl (or .wrl) file simply imports the data into blender. Its kind of a shame that these things have to be experimented with (and agonized over :? ) before finally stumbling upon the right w...
