another important point that has not been discussed is the integrations with the current websites. I especially think of the bugtracker and wiki documentation. Users tend to report bug in the forums and the developpers won't read it, so we should maybe make a bugreport section pointing to gforge. S...

while currently the professional base is fairly modest - I think we need to plan for after Siggraph, where I expect we shall have huge growth.

rcas, you can put it in the 'competitive analysis' section if you like, which also has assorted planning content... LetterRip I have added a new section to it, it is called Blender Professionals Website . I think that will do for the time being. Later tonight I will organize things better and get s...

Great, lots of feedback. Joeri: I'm getting some ideas on paper with a bit more detail. I will post a link to them later on, you can then add yours to it and others can add theirs, so we can make this really good. -- Rui -- :) Maybe get some wiki somewhere? Or wordpress? Yes, something like that, p...

I am a management / CMS software developer working in Portugal, I have knowledge of JAVA and PHP for that purpose. When it comes to management, building workflow, portals and backends for it I k...

Lots of talk, and little getting done. It is clear that there's interest in a pro blender forum : A friend who works in the game industry saw this thread and mailed me right ahead that we could use our server to host such a forum. Not only hosting, but having such a forum as the main activity of ou...

"Joeri, please don't get upset if I may sound like steeling your idea, I'm just pointing out what I have in mind for such a place, hope it is in sync with your vision. Re: Double sided polygons

I noticed when using a "plane," for example, one side will be renderable but the other side will not. I want both sides of the plane to be scene/renderable in a 3D application. I've tried things such as duplicating, then rotating, then merging each vertex, but only one side is rendered. Anyone know...

To rubbleman. Blender is for all people and this means also professionals that use Blender for a living. From your point of view it looks like Blender should only be for Hobbiests and Kids or people new to 3D and that they should use commercial applications if they want to make Business with it. Thi...

To rubbleman: I think you are looking at it the wrong way. Blender as been so far just focused on Hobbiests and Kids. Meaning that the Professionals, Teachers and Organizations have been left aside. The aim of this is to create a place for these people, people that are left behind with what exists n...
