Why is that? Blender.org is all about development and not about users, isn't it?

B@rt
I second on this.

I think it should be a separate place, but it could be linked to / from Blender.org .

Why ?

Many people already know Python, why develop a new language when this already good is available, doesn't make much sense.

I would like to see GI in Blender as an option, for me it is the only thing missing. Have a new light source for Photons (much as Yafray adds) and add some GI specific features on it. Of course, this is hard to achieve in a Hybrid Render such as Blenders Internal one, so the best solution will have ...

Maybe its time to take the Blender Network further. Create a Blender Network portal, where Professionals, Institutions, Teacher and even other Organizations can get together and share things. This is the concept that just hit me now. We could include all the concepts described previously in there bu...

Re: Blender forum for professional users

I'm thinking of starting one. I think I already posted something on this previously here in the forum, and I believe it was a reply to you ;) . Anyway, here's a question: - Will it be an automated platform in the main website or just a forum with some pages ? What would you like to see there? Here'...

rcas, it is fairly unstable from my testing, and is far too late in the release cycle for a major addition - Ton would have kittens :) 2.42 or 2.50 whatever we call it is only a couple of months away, it isn't like it will be a half a year or so :) LetterRip I compile CVS myself, so I have no probl...

hi Nick_Lambert, bad to hear - could you try to get the command line output (by starting Blender from a console or so)...? That sounds like the wrong python version, or some library problem. If this was working fine (stable) in all platforms it would be a very good addition to the upcoming 2.41 rel...

What version of Blender ?
What version of Yafray ?

Have you tried a previous version of Yafray or Blender to see if the problem still exists ?

Koba: I also saw the Lightwave export thread on cgtalk - it's pretty cool :). I also learned that it's not legal to create a GPL'd plugin for a non-GPL'd program, so thats probably going to be the only way for a while... You can use LGPL for that. There are ways to get GPL to work with Commercial a...

Re: NEWS: ResPower Announces Unlimited Blender 3D Rendering!

I hope nobody is too offended by my posting this here. See the whole press release here: ResPower Announces Unlimited Blender 3D Rendering on their 700 node render farm I contacted Ton asking about banners/marketing at blender.org; he mentioned that there is a new marketing wing for the Blender Fou...

Fbx support would be great, im working in the game development, with blender, and 3dsmax, but i hate max's bone system, it would be great to skin in blender, and export it to motion builder. For Game support Collada is better if I recall. One of the good things about FBX SDK is that it can import /...

I started this builds on a time no one posted recent windows builds in this forum and I was using crappy Windows, so I lost some time and prepared a build system for Windows, leading to this posts to help others in the same situation as I was. But since there are lots of other people posting builds ...

Open ML Extension

I stumbled upon the Open ML extension and read a bit about it. And it looks like Jahshaka is using it. Does this makes sense in Blender's context? Shouldn't Blender benefit from using this? Here is a link for anyone who cares to take a look. And I know that the dev team misses a Open GL expert, not ...

Would it be possible to add the patch for getting rid of UV distortions on subdivision surfaces as well? I'd really really like to test that one :) (see: http://blender.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7694 ) I don't have much time to add patches and check if they work nicely. I will try to patch it, if i...
