i think maya stores an angle for each edge. if the angle difference between the two adjacent polygons of an edge is smaller than the stored value, the edge is smooth.

creases are for subdivision modelling. i mean hard/soft shading of polygon edges. currently the workflow for this seems to be a bit strange to me. but maybe it's just me. :)

now that mesh editing gets refactored i think it would also be a good time to improve how polygon smoothing is implemented into blender. i think smoothing should be totally edge based like in maya. it should be possible to make individual edges soft or hard. the display modes should be made a bit mo...

so all the uv-editing functionality will be merged into edit mode and the separate uv-face select mode will be removed? this would be great!

i think it would be very helpful if there were a function which converts the currently active subdivision surface to a polygon mesh. for example: add cube mesh enable subdivision surface with subdivision level 3 press <subdiv to mesh> button you will end up with the subdivision surface mode disabled...

in my opinion the current hotkey layout isn't very ergonomic in many cases. for functions you need very often it would make more sense to assign keys which are next to each other instead of keys with the first letter of the function name. it would avoid luxations of your fingers. :) customizable hot...

yes, the dotted lines hurt in the eyes! please improve this! a suggestion for the <uv/image editor> window: please add an option to repeat the displayed texture outside the 0..1 area. it would be helpful especially for texturing game levels with tiled textures. ... coming from other 3d applications ...
