strange, just two days ago i thought maybe sprints like they do for python and other open source projects maybe would be a good idea for blender too and now i see this thread. i hope you will find enough participants! :) what "group" does sponsor this?

do simple ints and floats get passed as reference too?

3d views - 16bit z-buffer only?

do blender 3d views use a 16bit z-buffer only? the z-buffer precision i get is kind of bad and why can't i set the far clipping plane beyond 1000?

it would be great if this could be improved somehow.

physx is closed technology and not compatible with blender's gpl license. i also think they will have a very hard time selling their ppu add-on cards. look at what nvidia, havok and ati are doing. high end gpus actually are more powerful vector processors than ageia's ppu. http://www.pcper.com/artic...

i managed to export bone animations to my model format but i am no expert on this either. i usually do a lot of trial and error coding. :) what i would do: don't care about the different coordinate systems. at the beginning it doesn't matter if your character is oriented correctly or not. the import...

what do you mean? mesh.getfromobject just gives me the base mesh (subdivision level 0) no matter what the subsurf modifier is set to. how would i get the subdivision level 2 mesh for example?

hm... the question of the thread starter didn't seem to get answered.

is it possible for a script to export a sds mesh (for example level 2) without requiring the user to finally apply the modifier?

would this also be helpful for getting the subdivision surface mesh (for example for exporters)?

or is there another way to access the sds mesh i haven't found yet?

i would find it nice if more themes were bundled with blender. maybe make a forum voting and the best 5 get picked or something like that?

armature x-axis mirror edit

it would be nice if after pressing [w] (flip left-right names) the x-axis mirror edit routine could be run one time for the newly named bones. (of course only if x-axis mirror edit is on.) currently you always have to move the original bones back and forth a bit to get the duplicated opposite bones ...
