Can someone please, explain in which space are these matrices? i wonder about this too? the bone does some rotation (for example the thigh during a walk cycle - caused by the ik) but the returned poseMatrix is always the same for me. for frame in range(1, 24): Blender.Set("curframe", frame) Window....

thanks!

i don't quite grasp how to get a pose object though.

like this from the armature object?

pose = Object.Get("Armature").getPose()
print pose.bones

doesn't seem to work (i use the windows orange build from january 15th).

since it looks like 2.41 is quite near now, i guess the pose module is finished already? could i have a glimpse at its docs somewhere? :)

yes, i was referring to your mail to bf-committers: Hi, there is a coder who is interested in writing a 'point oven' importer and exporter for blender. point over is a unversial format for 'baked' animation data. For each frame the exact location of each vert is written to file. For export it seems ...

point oven

i noticed the point oven mail on the mailing list. are you looking for a python solution or a c solution? exporting should be quite easy in python. i am not sure about the best way for import though. to support motion blur probably it would be necessary to apply vertex keys (i have never done that w...

the chip can only be used with novodex and novodex is expensive and can't be used with blender's license (except maybe with a python workaround).

thanks, i will try that. in the docs i saw that obj.getData() can also return a mesh instead of a nmesh now.

but if i link it like in your example wouldn't the object have links to two meshes then? couldn't that cause problems?

but i get it from an object of the scene with getfromobject so shouldn't it already be linked?

new mesh module - mesh.getVertGroupNames()

if i use mesh.getVertGroupNames() i get the error message: "AttributeError: mesh must be linked to an object first" what does this mean? since there is no getvertexinfluences method in the new mesh module (and this function seems to be broken in nmesh) i try to do this: # build vertex influences dic...

For example right now when I use Python to query a bone in an armature to determine its children, the attribute provides all descendants of the bone, and not just the immediate children. I suspect this is a bug as it would make exporting the hierarchy of the armature very difficult. i think somethi...

argh, it was my fault. stupid me! my model viewer always displayed the wrong data because of a nasty bug. i should have compared the text output of simple objects like in your example earlier. i am very sorry for wasting your time! :oops: the new mesh module is great! this cage parameter solution is...

by "editmode coordinates" i mean the undeformed coordinates. the coordinates of the vertices just like they appear in editmode without armature deformations and so on. they are needed in my model format as the bind pose of the armature. how would i get them? i wasn't able to figure that out for your...

and what do i have to do to get the undeformed coordinates? go out of editmode aswell? i think i was in object mode when i tried it. i have no idea what i am doing wrong. i can't get the editmode coordinates. but except for that problem i find the mesh module much nicer than nmesh. :)
