what, install blender under linux?!
download a build at blender3d.org. Exrtact it in a seperate folder (maybe /home/bin/blenderXXX). You can do that with the shell or with Ark (with KDE). Then just start blender by doubleclicking or in the shell with /home/bin/blenderXXX -w
-w is for window mode

shift+numpad0 dont works?

This function (shift+numpad0) don't works. You can set that with a menu but the hotkey don't works. On Linux it works very well. But its not only a windows-problem, i think. With an emulated numpad (notebock, of course) it works. I don't have acces to the bugtracker...but maybe another one can write...

nobody knows why the OSA took a very llooooooooooooooooong while with 2.6ghz pentium4 and ati redeon9600xt?
