This is so much to explain. Basically, you need to go to blender/source/ and search out the missing files. The functions that it can't find are in files that the Projectfiles failed to originally include. I can't write it all here or now, but if you need help I will post something on my website. :D

Major Speed Boost?

Hi everybody. I wrote this code not knowing originally what it would do. When applied, it increased rendering time for me by 70%! 70%! I haven't tested it with Yafray, but it should work just the same. If you don't get the same results please tell me. Maybe I'm just overreacting... Get the pat...

If you run a Multi-threading machine (a.k.a. "Hyper-threading" in Intel lingo) you can use the latest CVS build to render with both threads. However, I haven't noticed a significant increase in speed when I did this. Hyperthreading is definitly NOT the same as having a multiprocessor/multithreading...

Correct me if I misinterpreted you, but I'm not quite sure if you understand what OpenGL actually is. OpenGL is an API (application programming interface) that is used to display 'graphics' on the screen. It is basically a direct interface to the hardware. Blender, however, uses OpenGL to display th...

I would start by perusing some of the button files "button_xxx", try changing the text of a button and see what happens. It's actually pretty fun!

New Angle Code

Hi everybody. I was going through the edge angle calculation code when I found something screwy - It works off of faces only! This means that if edges aren't part of the same face, their angles can't be calculated. I thought this was stupid, so I rewrote it. You can find the new, face independent co...

I once was where you are today. You will just have to go through the code and look at all the comments and read what certain sections do. What I would start with is try adding a simple bit of output text "printf('text')" in a certain section. If you see the text in the console, you know which functi...
