WINE + Win32 build = WOW!

Well, so I tested my latest SSE2 build on Windows and my test render scene gave 31.73 seconds. Pretty good, I think. However, I run the exact same build of Blender in Kubuntu 6.06 in WINE and the scene renders in 16.67 seconds (I think, something within 16 seconds). How do you explain that? And that...

Yes, check out www.graphicall.org . The builds there are done by members of the Blender community and are actually quite good. Also, the NL mirror usually always works, because that is straight from http://www.blender.org . Also, goto download.blender.org/release/ and navigate to find one you want. ...

Thank you, once again. Please note that on the day 2.42 is officially released, I will build SSE1 & 2 optimized builds of the 2.42 source. These builds will also include an official installer. Thus, these builds will be no different than the official builds, except for much more optimization.

Thank you for enjoyin my builds. Yes, I can build a 64-bit version, and for Windows XP Pro 64-bit it will run faster than a normal 32-bit version. However, XP Home is not 64-bit, so a 64-bit build will not run on it. Also, Visual C compiler does not currently have support for SSE3 or better. At leas...

Hi, where did you get your build from? If it's from the main downloads at blender.org, try some of the custom ones at graphicall.org. Also, your graphics card may be affecting this greatly.

Windows SSE2 RC2

This is an unnofficial SSE2 optimized build for the 2.42 Release Candidate 1. If you've never used one of my builds before, please note that your CPU must support SSE2 to run this build.

P.S. - Please post your render times with this build on this topic at BlenderNation.

One must understand that any image can be made with any program that can save to an image format. It really mostly depends on what the user can do. Blender excels in letting the user choose how their image looks. You could make a Pixar film in MS Paint if you had the time and the desire  .

This isn't new. Do you remember the whole fiasco a little while back? I forgot the name of the company, but they packaged Blender and Yafray and GIMP under their own name, stating that they (and they alone) made all this wonderful software and are selling it for only $25.

Yes, I completely understand. Soon I will post optimized builds of the 2.41 release source, so you can have the stability of 2.41 with optimized speed.

Start of Summer Optimized Windows Pack

I have posted three "Start of Summer" builds on graphicall.org. Each one is optimized a lot, but two require certain CPU instruction set support to run faster. Please test the ones that can run on your computer. Note: one build here requires your CPU to support SSE1 and another one requires SSE2. To...

BF-Blender / Windows Optimized with SSE2

A new BF-Blender / Win32 Optimized build has been uploaded to graphicall.org! This build is very fast and stable, but it requires your CPU to support SSE2.

Have you tried the magical ATI fix yet? If not, try this:

Download this file and copy it in the same directory that Blender.exe is in. Now run Blender. It will either help immensely or completely crash the program.

Try this:
1. Download this file and put it in the same directory that blender.exe is in.
2. Set all graphics acceleration to maximum.

This will either crash the program upon start, or cause it to work smoothly. If it crashes, delete the dll. I hope for you it works smoothly, though.

The wings importer is probably outdated/poorly written. What version of Blender are you using?
