Python Patch Help!

Hi, I am working on the patch for Blender.Image that allows individual pixels in an image to be read into an image buffer. The problem is, I cannot figure out the imbuf->rect variable for my life. Could anyone help? If you could just tell me how to get the values out of the variable that would be gr...

MSVC 7 Commit!

To all those who use Visual Studio .NET, there has just been a major commit on all the projects. They should now work. Now you can build the entire solution! :D

I am with you. This SAME exact thing happened to me, and I hope that you won't have to go through as much trouble as I did to get it to work. Follow these steps CAREFULLY! 1. What the problem is is that Blender needs quick acess to the atioglxx.dll file. 2. To get the *proper* atioglxx.dll file, fol...

Yes, I will document this as best I can. It may not be perfect, but at least it WILL be documentation.

This is what it will look like. Look for post named "New Python Function - Image" soon. There will be three functions:

getPixelColor_R(int x, int y)
getPixelColor_G(int x, int y)
getPixelColor_B(int x, int y)

These will return the Red, Green, or Blue intensity values of the specified pixel.

Imbuf->rect

How do you get the pixel color of a specific pixel in Imbuf->rect?

No problem! In fact, I'm *almost* ready to post patch V .01. Just got to figure out how to return the R G or B from the Image Buffer and I'm good to go! :D

As a matter of fact, the Python modules aren't too hard to patch. I'm writing one right now to combat your problem. Keep checking up! :D

I was checking out the Python API in Blender and under the Image module there was no function for extracting individual pixels. A real drag... I'll check back when I find a solution (maybe if I write a patch...) :?

2D image to 3D mesh

In my past topic (Automatic Background Wrapping) I talked about maybe a Python script or something that would take 3 orthographic images and turn them into one mesh. Does anyone know how this might work?

I suppose what I was talking about was the fact that you can read pixels directly from a rendered image. But I'm not sure I fully understand what you're saying: is Blender.Image for an external image or an internal render?

The RGB values of each pixel can be copied from the from the Color buffer using this function: glCopyPixels(x,y,width, height, buffer) : Coordinates you wish to copy and from what buffer (GL_COLOR) OR Read directly from the screen: glReadPixels(x,y,width, height, format, type, pixels) : 'Pixels' is a void...

What are Soft bodies and Rigid Bodies?

I hear about these all the time, but I've always wondered: what are they exactly? :?:

Automatic Background Wrapping

Has anyone ever wanted to see a Python script or something be able to take 3 orthographic images of a car and turn them into an editmesh automatically? This would be awesome. It'd save a lot of trouble. :D
