I have two more things to add: http://heliosmulti.com/files/bevel_edge_thoughs_vectxt.pdf http://heliosmulti.com/images/vertex_normals_mode.png Note in the second doc, I changed a bit the menu. I think we should remove the mode text display. If there's no text on the viewport shading, I don't see wh...

Would it be possible to have an alignment indicator in the corner of the perspective view ? http://heliosmulti.com/images/perspective_indicator.png Often when I want to constraint an edit to a certain axis, I don't know how my axis are. I know there is the grid centre, but often, you just can't see ...

I wouldn't say that. The french community has been very involved into opensource for a very long time. Look at a lot of devs on the blender project, there's a bunch of french people. :D

I'm always fascinated at every Tuhopuu release ! I like quite a bit the gradient on the normals, it's a nice addition. :) Gabio it seems you are having problems with your server. I just tested a bunch of compression methods. 7z seems to be a lot better than zip (or rar at 2,091,157 bytes) comp...

so you're saying that blender should support ngons Doesn't have to, it may as well triangulate the new face. and add the bevel feature from wings3d [probably other apps too, I don't use them] I never really used Wings so I can't say.. I'll take a look at it. Personally I hate wings method of modeli...

z3r0_d wrote:would 1 subdivision bevel of more than 4 edges meeting at some vertex result in a more than 4 sided face?

also, what would you do at edges which you do not bevel? As in, say you bevel one edge of a cube, what happens?

Bevel rewrite ideas (pdf doc)

I've written a small doc about my ideas on what I think should be in a new bevel function (given that it will be changed because it really needs it, reasons inside).

I'd like to have your comments on this, thanks.

Please don't forget that CTRL-Tab ist used by many desktop managers on *nix-like systems like KDE or GNOME for switching between desktops. So that would be really a bad idea! ;) Ctrl+Tab is already used to switch between vertex/edge/faces. Doesn't break anything. It's only that I thought (still do)...

I think it would be better to make the Spacebar switch edit modes...because currently the spacebar brings up that other menu, which is nice..but i'm sure switching edit modes would be more used than that menu. There was a discussion about this menu here: http://www.blender.org/modules.php?op=modloa...

Exactly my thought.
DYeater wrote:You don't use tab much? Hmm. It is used quite often by me to go into edit mode.
I use it, but I switch between v/e/f much more than between objects.

Ctrl+Tab and Tab, inverting use ?

Ok I was working a bit in Blender, and thought something. Tab is very easy to access, but is not used most of the time. Ctrl+Tab is kinda strange to access, but is used most of the time. What about inverting the behaviour of these two functions ? It would make switching selection modes a lot faster ...

Thanks a lot Gabio, great build as always !

Suggestions:

- Could smoothing be displayed like in HE mesh in normal mesh edit mode ?
- Bridge in normal mesh ?

Could normals be displayed with a gradient colour ? Like the combo select types ?

Oh my god I gotta go on my Fedora install to try this ! :D My impressions in a few minutes. Edit: My opinions. The widgets representation in tuhopuu are the best right now. And the fixed turntable is truly a great gift ! I couldn't find the hard edge button, but I'm really looking forward to what it...
