The Dungeon Hack project needs animators

The Dungeon Hack project is a free rpg that uses the Ogre engine and Lua scripting. We need animators with enough Blender experience to create and animate the npcs and monsters for this project. The only requirement is that your work has a Creative Commons license that allows everyone to use your mo...

I don't have a clue of how much work this would need but i would like to give some ideas on interesting customization options besides key bindings: * Configuring the space used by tool bars and the size of the menu text. * The orientation of tool bars (vertical or horizontal), possibly with vertical...

Is there any place where we can obtain full and well explained documentation on the .blend binary format?

You gave me an idea. Would be possible to make Blender render the sphere with render materials sphere mapping and the baking it into 6 environment map textures? That is 6 images for the face of a cube.

I could then subdivide a cube into a sphere and have a perfect sphere maping this way using uvs.

I think you are both right. When i uv-mapped the plane each quad was assigned to a perfect uv-square. After distorting the top the quad (as two triangles) becomes a large triangle and a tiny triangle. Rendering the tiny triangle causes some significant texture distortion. On the other side the probl...

Strange seams in quads

I have a problem that appears as texture seams when creating almost triangular quads. To try to understand the problem i have created a 4x4 plane, textured with the same image and joined the vertices in the top very close to create the quads i mentioned. Aparently it's some bug when working with qua...

Re: Using AI for animation and modelig

UglyMike you haven't answered my question. I was asking if someone (a blender dev thus the reason why it is in these forum) was planning or at least has shown signs of interest about adding this to Blender in the future. I wasn't trying to tell anyone something that is widely known. Ok so maybe this...

Using AI for animation and modelig

Is there anyone working on AI and artifical life features to add to Blender? This would be very useful for animating a large number of objects without having to tweek them one by one. Heres some example scenes: - an army in motion of hundred of soldiers with a group AI controling their movement - se...

What is a 'named selection This is one way to add user-data (properties) to a selection of vertices or part of a mesh. It's similar to what already exists with animation but with the possibility of adding user-data. and prefab'? Prefabs are used by the Half-Life2 editor, the Doom3 editor (i believe...

What is planned for Blender and game creation?

What are the future plans for Blender as a tool to create games? Im a little concerned with this stuff. This forum activity has been a bit low in the last days. I remenber there was some plans to create a plugin to couple an external engine to Blender. There was some guy trying to create a new way t...

There are a lot of answers for that in the wiki. But if you want my advise and if you want to make a decent game avoid the logic properties panel. Thats very limited and is only worth for learning ny making small demos. It's better to use the python api directly. Someone has created a much better so...

Some questions about cuting and uv?

Is it possible to select some edges (contiguous or not) and cut a mesh trought the path defined by those edges?

Is there a way to move a vertice belonging to a textured mesh and automaticaly update its UV coordinate so that the texture mapping is preserved?

Then perhaps someone could tell me where in the manual or the wiki is this question answered? http://mediawiki.blender.org/index.php/Manual It looks like people don't bother too much with precision but for what im doing i need an exact field of view value. And by the way it would be very useful to b...
