Is this 'scons' the replacement? personally i like the old way better  On this page you can see a bit of history why autoconf has been removed: http://www.blender3d.org/cms/Build_systems.108.0.html#...

Hi, if you've run SCons before you upgraded Python - and possibly some other libraries - then you should remove config.opts. After that running scons again will result in a new config.opts file. This should work. Another possibility is that the SDL installation you've made, requires some additional ...

Hi, I'm using the Make environment for building the Linux binaries, but SCons for development. The SCons environment is set up such that it'll build Blender with the game engine and SOLID by default. With the Make environment, you'll have to set some NAN_ xxxxxx variables in nan_ xxxxx .mk files in ...

Hi,

The SOLID sources are located in the blender source tree.
What's the error you're getting? And what build system are you using (Make or SCons)?

Re: Call for scripts to include in a regression test suite

Hey Chris, As one of the (former) Python API developers I welcome such a wonderful initiative! I don't have scripts to help you out. It's just that I wanted to say "Thank you" :!: Also, if you need help, you can use the bf-python mailing list for direct communication with the API developers. With re...

Hi, I've been away for 5 days. Before that I had just enough time to build and test the Linux version. Now that I'm back, I planned to generate the Python API doc. Unfortunately, on my return, I got the news that a tree in our street got struck by lightning. As a result of this, my computer (probabl...

bf-blender Linux-glibc2.2.5-python2.3 (20040421)

Hi, Here's another Blender build. IanWill has spent quite some time on figuring out the problem with regards to the crashes on various Linux systems. Thanks must go to Blendix as well for he experienced the same crashes on his system, but helped IanWill with providing crash information. In any case,...

Ok, the problem does not seem to be related with the version of Python that is installed. The backtraces provided in this thread are very helpful! Even though I can't reproduce the problem on my own system, we now have a good clue of the origin of the problem. As you may or may not know, Blender 2.3...

Hi, thank you all for all the response on the segfaults. Unfortunately with no additional information, I can't fix any problem. I have to make the following assumptions: - The segfault occurs when starting blender. - You have Python 2.3 installed Please, provide a little more information. By the way...

bf-blender Linux-glibc2.2.5-python2.3 (20040413)

Hi,

Another test build. All latest cvs commits are available in this one. Many bug fixes.
I still don't have an explanation for the crashes people experience. My only guess would be an incompatible Python version (prior to version 2.3).

You can find the latest builds here.
