I think, although I havent read this hole thread in a long time, that the coolest idea people would love to see, is have the Blender game engine able to port directly to CS. So you can design and build parts or all of your game, then take all those models, logic, scripting, etc... and directily port...

Well, let me put this here.... Blender still works very much like it has always worked. A few new features are easly learned. Most of the changes are only the look of some of the windows, but functionality hasn't changed much. Therefore, I would say that this manuel, like most of all of the manuals ...

There is a Blend2CS converter here in the projects section. And Jiba from Soya3D project wrote an Cal3d skeletal model exporter, that worls quite well. Problem is, it ports only some information for only the models. Just think, if we could create content, in Blender, with its non-programming interf...

Hi ismore, Actually, ifyou look into the "Next Generation Blender" project, Eskil is working on functionality that would enable just what you've suggested. It's really cool, but I'm afraid he's just about the only person working on it??? Anyone else working on Verse???? Anyway, I really haven't been...

The best way at this time is to use Crystal Space. It has a py Blender converter for maps and models. But you do have to be able to program. It's really a cool game engine and you can check it out here: http://crystal.sourceforge.net Of course, what Eskil is up to is a something that will bring a wh...

Well, unfortunately, I'll be putting in overtime at work the next two weeks. I had to give up on Siggraph or leave my boss in a tough spot. He's a really great guy, so I decided to help him out (he already approved my leave for siggraph, so I could have abandoned him, hee hee hee) Oh well, next year...

I'm updating my website

Well, I've started to lay the groundwork for the new organization of my website. I have different sections for my interests, the largest of course is dedicated to Blender. Also, I have Justin having a go at making a “create your own tutorial” program for the site. If it works, anyone will be able to...

Just a note, that CS does have Blender exports for levels. Nothing fancy, but you can model your levels in Blender and export to Blender. The one big bummer, is I still don't know how to export annimations??

Oh well, Ingie

I guess the VR tag does have connotations of a bunch of silly people chatting all the time, LOL. But I must admit, in a world like Second Life, it’s much more stimulating to build things (no matter what tools are provided) and having people around you to critique, suggest and give you other ideas, a...

Second Life is going "Live"

Hi all, One of the most amazing VR communities is going live soon. It has gone "open Beta" and if you join the beta group, there are some really nice special pricing oppertunities for you when it goes live. Even the monthly will be cheaper, and kept at that same pricing as long as you are with it. A...

In theory, we could already work at connecting the current blender to verse. For a user this can be done without even noticing. A verse database can run local as well, and will just handle data storage and file import/export. Still better to postpone this I think... Oh, why? I think it would make p...

I just received a message from the tradeshow organizer that they cancelled the startup park. They advised me to rent a 10x10 feet booth instead, which will cost 3500 usd just for the square meters.. I have serious doubts about this... cut.... (And of course I was planning to make tees again. :-) We...
