Can anyone just tell me how to bring a .jpg or (any other photo format for that matter) into blender??????? I think the tutorials might help me some from there; if I could just get that far...! It's very easy, because you don't need aditional information about adjacent vertex, simply you must select all vertex of each face sharing the current selected vertex.
That can be slow coded in python for complex meshes but I can wait 2 seconds.

Yeah! weight on the subsurf points will be awesome, but the tool for select next near points is usefull for many more things, and the most important it can be implemented just now very easy by a coder, even in python! (I think).

Chosse the .blend you like the interface and press Ctrl U, next time you load Blender you will see this interface.
