Blender on Windows Vista

Post by megadroid »

Please, tell me, will Blender (and Python) on Windows Vista be working, or not? Is here somebody, who know it?

yes, it will blender on windows vista be working, not not.

[blender 2.4 and python 2.4 install/run fine on vista RC2. I'm told that blender also runs fine on the RTM [which I don't have to play with] version with an nvidia card. I don't know about blender 2.5 or python 2.5, I haven't tried. Windows vista has software opengl like windows xp [still version 1.1, ick] and blender is able to run in that situation as well. I haven't tried RC2 on an ati card, so I can't comment on that combination]

[gah, the menu slow is back! You also didn't define "run" to mean "be usable" nor did you ask how soon blender would "run" on windows vista. I can't read the future, and I'm no longer watching the development mailing lists so I don't really have any particularly accurate info to give you. ]

If you watched the conference videos.. the OS of the projector computer was a Window$ Vista..

I think it's just because it was property of De Waag, and not BF's.

BTW, it runned Blender smoothly.
