Have you ever run a java desktop application?
a - slow startup times
b - non-native looking interface
c - widget delay times
a - depends on the JVM you use. Sun HotSpot Client is pretty fast, try it
b - not true. java can use many look & feels, including the system default look & feel - it only depends on the programmer. you should not talk about things you do not know
c - what widgets? any examples? huh ..

Hi Elander,

Your intentions of rewriting blender in java excites me. I can offer you the development section, The repository plus other things that you need.

I was looking for something like this for our development section

Please drop me a mail at jitendra@aayaam.com.

I'm damm serious about it...

Maybe with a basic program this would get people from the Java community to contribute. I wanted to do this as a well documented project following standard or close to standard norms of documentation but the problem is that i don't have a repository for the project and a site to place the project documentation.

Anyway i will ask the javagaming forums if they allow me to create a project in their gamedev site. If not i will need someone else help at least to get cvs or svn and a quota to create a project page. This would be an help to get this thing going.

Indeed, but I meant literally, right now ;) I've been busy the past few weeks, and unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on point of view) I'll be busy the coming time too. So amino will be more often in use.

Three posts in one day, all in the same year-old thread. Someone must have quite a love affair with Java. All hail The One True Language!
