INVENTOR compatiblity

Post by jc24 » Wed May 23, 2007 2:44 pm

Hello,

I would use, for an animation with Blender, some modelisations that are realised with Inventor.

Is there anyone who know the Blender-Inventor compatibility?

Thanks

JC

Not sure about the exports from Inventor, but AutoCAD has dxf output options and Blender imports dxf (and a variety of other formats) quite well.

At my school, we work with SolidWorks and export VRML (.wrl) files perfectly to Blender. We use SoftPlan for architectural and export our 3D models as dxf files. Perfect results most times.

On a side note, the programs we have always had the most problems with importing and exporting are Autodesk (AutoCAD, Inventor, etc) products. Just one reason why I don't like them :-)

I've done it lots of times. You can export from Inventor by saving your file as a .STL. DXF never seemed to work.

I do not, however, know of a way to go from blender to Inventor, though I don't know why you would want to.
