(possibly BUG) 2.44 -> 2.42 reset uvs

Hi everyone,

The problem is that the models I have saved in version 2.44, when I open one of this on 2.42, the UV-maps are lost. I have tried to open it on 2.42, 2.42a and 2.37, and in all this versions the uvmaps had been lost after save under 2.44 and open in one of this older versions. And this possibly bug happens even in models I created on 2.42, make the uvmaps, and then opened it normally on 2.44 and then saved. All the uv maps are reseted.
Is there any bug related to this, and any way to solve this?
Huh, the model is animated, so export/import with 3ds, obj will not solve the problem..

This could be a bug related not to only save and open in older version, but the 3ds export plugin under 2.44 isn't exporting the uv information too, so this could be the same problem

I doubt it's a bug. You can hardly blame an old version of Blender for not understanding a scene that has been saved in a later version.

Maybe some kind souls at www.elysiun.com can help you out

What is causing this is a change made in 2.43. In this version, UV 'layers' were added, so that you could have more than one set of UV's for a mesh. This change meant that versions prior to 2.43 could not read uv's generated in a version after 2.43, as the data structures are different.

So that´s a problem
because I thnik the exporters for .3DS, maybe other, is being prejudicated with this..
