UV Sphere mapping - Why removed??

Post by sten »

Hey all, good place for ask this?

Well, I just wondering why UV Sphere mapping was removed?
(it is still there in 2.23 version, don't know about 2.25)

Any particular reason? And WHEN Will it come back??

I hate to say it, but when I want to mapp texture with UV,
I miss this feature alot!!!

I hope I am not all alone about this *Sighs*

yours,
You mean the UV sphere mapping function in the "f" mode right?
I just checked, you are right, it was removed..

It also doesn't exist in 2.25 .. I get the feeling a lot of stuff
didn't make it into 2.25 , probably it was being worked on at the
time of the release of 2.25..

It should be back in 2.28.

And who works on this ;) ??

why not add better UV mapping feature now when they work on this matter, like the faces maps out in the UV window in how the fits easier with the image, like in Strubi's "Shmender"

I mean cubic unwrapper, it would work like the big tools :)

easier to work too !

Will Cessen's Material plugin system be in 2.28 too or maybe 2.3 (or was it 2.5 before 3.* ?) ??

Hi ztonzy,

the UV mapping is back in instinctive-blender.

There is only a linux/i386 binary available right now.

Heh from what I was told there was a bug with it so they removed it from 2.25 I do hope its in 2.28, becuase it was a nice feature, maybe other uvmapping techniques like the one wings uses where it scatters the faces about but the are near perfect in realativity of size (which deep paint 3d uses) <--- I think thats what its called heh
