Major Blender Issues on Mac [Intel GMA + Snow leopard]

Post by huhaider » Mon Mar 15, 2010 7:08 pm

Hi, new to blender. And loving the program up to now, but I'm having some pretty majors problems a the moment.

The build I'm using is: blender-2.49b-OSX-10.5-py2.5-intel. My mac has the following specs:

Model Name: MacBook
Model Identifier: MacBook4,1
Processo Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz
Memory: 2 GB
OS: 10.6.2

Ok the problem is that (as reported before) the views are flickering, but in addition (what is really making it unusable) the when rotating the default cube it also flickers so you cant see what your doing.

Also when I maximise the screen it completely garbles up with green boxes. Finally a really annoying point is that the view menu doesn't fully appear when you click on it, it gets chopped off at the top of the window, and since I cant maximise any more I cant see the rest of the options!

Hope someone can give me hand, because I really want to start using blender!

Hi unfortunately the MacBook's on-board graphics isn't suited to 3D, some users have had better luck with 2.5. The trick of adjusting one of the windows in full screen mode seems to work for some. (in full screen mode just grab the one of the window edge an move a fraction of an inch)
10.6.3 is due out in a couple of weeks and OpenGL improvements is on the list so it may help

Hi, I had the same problem with macbook .

I installed an more early version of Blender which cured the problem.
