Request for Blender 2.5 better memory management

one thing i always notice is that because blender has to hold the entire file in ram while working on it the bigger it gets the slower everything gets perhaps there might be a way to store all mesh information on the hard drive until it was needed at witch time it could be loaded back into ram for editing

i am closing this thread for 2 reasons 1 64 bit solves the entire problem 2 this idea i suggested could not be implamented because hard drives have too slow a speed

and 3) virtual memory already works like this by paging to disk if there is not enough physical memory.

basically as long as you buy a workstation chuck it full of memory give it a good graphics card a good quad core etc.. you can make huge mesh files no problems like stuff the size you see in movies hypotheticly
