Siggraph BOF agenda

Post by ton » Thu Jul 03, 2003 5:40 pm

BOF name: Blender Development
Mon. July 28th 4 pm - 6 pm
Marriott, Cardiff suite (Siggraph HQ, next to Convention Center)

BOF name: Blender Roundup and Future
Th. July 31th 1 pm - 5 pm
Marriott, Del Mar suite (Siggraph HQ, next to Convention Center)

My idea was to have the first BOF more general, and getting to know each other. The 2nd session we can do actual work. Discussing topics or design for Blender3, but I'm available for coding classes as well.

If there's sufficient interest, I can do more coding classes during the week, or give personal feedback on specific issues.

Please propose ideas what you would like to do, or hear from others, or me... :)
Based on that, we can finalize the agenda for the BOFs

Is anyone planning to put on a presentation?

Does anyone want to display video?

If so I have a digital projector I would be willing to bring along to the BOFs.

Think about it, my offer is good till the 16th.

By that time I'll have left

I'll be doing a small QuickTake presentation for the Educators Program (see link to synopsis here and original idea in this forum here). Dunno if I'll need or will have time for video showing (at least not a lot) as I'm limited to 10 minutes. Everyone should definitely come out to the presentation, though, and heckle me if I make huge mistakes.

That's cool! We can just end the thursday BOF around 4:30 pm, and take everyone to your presentation. I see the 10 minute presentation after yours has been cancelled. So you can claim 20 minutes now! :-)

DreamerV3: I still think your offer is very tempting!

Apart from the (lack of :) postings here, I've got some mail in from people about the BOFs.

The agendas for the meetings will be kept simple, like this:

1. (monday 16h) Blender development
- introduction round (so we know who everyone is!)
- I give a presentation about the things that happened past year
- there are several topics I'd like feedback on as well; especially around organizing the open source project.
- we can discuss the need for coding sessions this week
- when people apply for it, other presentations can be held
- we end with more informal get-together, demos, checking out the new
cool shirts, I'll hand out some goodies... etc!

2. (thursday 13h) Blender round-up & future
- feedback on what siggraph learnt us, related to Blender
- mapping out & discussing ideas around Blender3
- code workshop, feedback
