General discussion about the development of the open source Blender

Despite a lot of great things about Blender 2.57 series, I am not very happy about one. That is the UV Image Map function. Unlike Blender 2.49b, where you could pan all around the Image Map, all you can do in 2.57 is zoom in and out and that is it. The panning about helped me to manipulate and arranged the UV islands and the vertexes about to fit to where I want them on the texture map. That way I can create a better texture map image that I could create with Photoshop and Gimp. Unfortunately, I have to deal with the way the map is, because, when I zoom into the map, I cannot pan to a part of the UV vertexes (because they can be very small) that I want to manipulate around the edges and corners of the UV Image Map.
