Building tuhopuu2 under windows with gcc

Post by Hos »

Here are the new directions on how to build
tuhopuu2 with free tools (gcc/cygwin) under
windows:

http://projects.blender.org/viewcvs/vie ... cvs-markup

Most tuhopuu1 features have yet to be patched
onto the new tree, but theeth's constraint stuff
and MadProf's gooey-ui are in there.

Chris

P.S. Just over one week to go for the new tuhopuu2
splashscreen contest:

No, the Mac users keep constantly asking for stuff so we are
dropping OS X support ... just kidding!

Try compiling it and let us know where you are having problems
(please use the "Coding Blender" forum)... maybe *you* can be
the author of the doc about OS X compilation.

I followed the instructions for compiling using cygwin step by step and hey! it worked !!

No hassles at all.

The new UI ROCKS !!! The "special" is my favourite. Love those sliders.

New constraints wow! But what ever happened to the action constraint?

:o

I give up, I guess my computer has something against compiling blender. I tried SO many times now, with the help of lots of people, but it just won't compile. I did get it to compile a couple of times in the beginning :) It sais something like nan_makefile.mk not found. At the beginning of the compilation. I exactly followed your steps. Any thoughts?

And oh, any change to get a screenshot of the new interface?

you are using cygwin right?

Installed all the right packages?

Did the cvs thing correctly. Have you tried deleting all the cvs files and starting fresh. If the compiler cant find something then it cant be there :P

Are you using the tutorial as stated above?

Windows XP?

I dont have access to a server for screen shots, I must make an effort to find something. :(

thanks!

Regarding the Action constraint, you have to select a bone in Pose mode for it to be in the list.

soletread: I'm sure I'm using cygwin right and I have the right packages installed. And I followed the tutorial above from scratch and I followed each step and didn't get any errors until issueing the make command. I use windows 2000. I'll look into the precise error tonight.

Anybody any ideas, im getting the code to compile but after about 45 mins it stops and i get this:

Code: Select all

msgfmt ca.po -o /home/john/tuhopuu/tuhopuu2/obj/windows/bin/.blender/locale/ca/LC_MESSAGES//blender.mo
make[1]: *** [ca] Error 255
make: *** [all] Error 1
I get ".exe" file in the \obj\windows\bin folder and the file runs if i drop it in an old tup' install directory.
Should the compiling stop like that? or i'am missing something? :?

But when i want to try a CVS, i make the usual step ./bootstrap, ./configure, make in tuhopuu2 directory but at the make's step, after 10 minutes compilating, i get a ERROR 1.

what's the hell, i have all libraries?

any help?

or a binarie of the latest tuhopuu? =)

Nozzy:

That is trying to compile the translations - it looks like you need to install gettext (from Cygwin.) Don't bother if you prefer English.

Etna:

cvs -z3 update -Pd
and try again, or post the actual error message.

Chimera also made an Gentoo ebuild:

i have all libraries (up to date)

In bootstrap step:

configure.ac:222: warning: do not use m4_patsubst: use patsubst or m4_bpatsubst
configure.ac:403: warning: do not use m4_regexp: use regexp or m4_bregexp

okay, it's nice, but these lines don't exist :)

and

intern/ghost/Makefile.am:117: warning: automake does not support conditional definition of BUILDPS in libblender_GHOST_la_SOURCES

i don't know

while Configure, nothing special.

and i retried after 24minutes of compil.

: warning: the use of `tempnam' is dangerous, better use `mkstemp'

In the tuhopuu2 source directory, run:
cvs -z3 update -Pd
and then rebuild.

With those bootstrap warnings, what version of automake, autoconf and libtool do you have?
