3D Mouse

Post by hawthorn402@btinternet.co » Thu Sep 22, 2011 12:32 pm

I know this is a big ask but is there anyone out there that would be willing to write a plugin for the Spacecontroller you can get the API from www.spacecontroller.com free of charge. unfortunatly I have allready purchased one and it is great for other aplications it works as we want it to by moving the 3d port not moving us like a camera, but does nothing in Blender they are makeing it suitable for Linux and they say they will try to write a plugin for Blender but it may take 18 months. I am sure if someone can write the plugin this mouse would be well recieved as it works the same way we do, please help,
thank you

You might want to email Mike Erwin directly. significant.bit@gmail.com

He wrote the current support for 3D mice in Blender.

If the API for the SpaceController is not too different than what is already supported, it may only be a matter of recognizing the hardware and some minor tweaking to make it work.

Edit: corrected Mike's email address
