Nokia has officially become Silver Sponsor of the Blender Foundation. Welcome Nokia!
The (coolest!) Dutch provider XS4all has decided to upgrade to Main Sponsor status, allowing us to burn up to 10k euro in services and bandwidth per year!
We're moving to XS4all now, might give an hickup somewhere during the next days.
There's another major sponsor coming along as well, but we have to talk about the final details yet.
As you can read at the blender3d.com site, a Silver Sponsor gets mentioned at the site, as official Sponsor, with a small banner/button.
I know some people in Nokia, and one of the engineers there arranged this sponsorship. It doesn't involve a lot of money, but allows us to use their brand at our site. it helps with the credibility of the Blender Foundation, also to contact additional sponsors or apply for subsidy grants.
For the future, there might be happening some more with Blender within the Nokia labs. They use quite some Linux there, and are not afraid for incorporating GNU GPL software within their products.
We'll see what happens!

Good work Ton!
A great name like Nokia, with o without real money for the foundation,
is however a tactical alliance for foundation reputation: you are like
Napoleone Bonaparte or Sun Tzu...
I know that the Nokia sponsor is very significant indeed. I was very surprised (NO Ofense) that such a large and widely known company is supporting Blender.
What actually are Nokia supplying just a little money?
