Hi there,
I'm just about to enter the Blender world, and wanted to know whicvh version I should download for a pre-Intel mac running Osx 10.4.11.
Could anyone give me a steer, please?
Many thanks
The correct version of blender

The last 'official' PPC build that I can find is Blender 2.56Beta, and is 2 years old.
http://download.blender.org/release/Ble ... .4-ppc.zip
After that, all of the builders moved to 10.5 and 10.6.
There are two possibilities for newer versions of Blender on PPC 10.4.x
Either it is impossible to build due to newer dependencies (libraries, Python version, etc..) for the older OS, or nobody has gone through the trouble of doing it.

a search for PPC gave me 3 results, the latest is 2.63 something...
but requires OSX 10.6.8, doesn't seem to work on 10.5.x (see comments)

I'm sitting, waiting, wishing, building Blender in superstition...
