Need a new computer for blender cycles

Post by nicksc » Wed Feb 20, 2013 5:37 pm

Hi everboby looking to buy a new computer just for blender. Was thinking of this one,

I am concerned about buying a laptop because of over heating. Don't really want to build one, would rather buy one pre built. However I would build one if it was the best way to go. Please help :-)

I am also using blender on a laptop and I don't have any problems with heat. The one thing I recommend you checking is the cooling system of the laptop you choose. 17 inch laptops usually are a good choice since they have enough space for a decent cooling system. 670 with 3GB RAM is a great choice. I do not know about Toshiba's cooling system but I know Asus G75VX has one of the best cooling system on a laptop you might consider that one as well. I believe you won't regret getting a good laptop for Blender.

The asus g75vx looks like what I need. It looks awesome. Having a hard time finding one with 16 megs of ram.

You're welcome. Those laptops are very accessible in terms of upgrade/expansion. You can easily add loads of ram for cheap prices.
