Procedural Textures Copyright

Post by 3dmastergame » Fri Jul 26, 2013 3:17 am

Is the Procedural Textures, public domain or All Rights Reserved.
I'm making a 3D Game and I just want to know if I can use this.

The Procedural Textures I'm talking about are these.
Blend
Clouds
Distorted Noise
Magic
Marble
Musgrave
Noise
Stucci
Voronoi
Wood

So can use these to make textures for my 3D models.

The procedural textures are likely available for use in a game based on intellectual property (copyright) considerations, since these textures are mathematical constructs which depend upon the parameters you enter. These are, I expect, covered under a legal construct called "prior art".

The problem with using these in a game depends more upon the game. They would probably work reasonably well in the Blender game engine; the chance of their working in any other game engine diminishes dramatically.
