Noobie seeks cvs help?

sorry if this is posted in the wrong place :?

never used cvs before

can someone point me to a step by step (cvs for dummies ) on how to do a checkout from a windose box

Look at http://www.tortoisecvs.org/. This tool might be of great use (it is to me). It embeds the CVS functionality into your Windows Explorer. The userguide is at http://www.tortoisecvs.org/UserGuide_en.chm

ok I've got the tortise thing going

but when I try and do a checkout and get to the password dialog , I'm stuck :oops:

pressing enter won't work, and anonymous dosen't work either

whats the magic password

ok, i heard about this prog through this forum, and decided to try it. nifty thing.

after much swearing, i found the magic string to punch into the top to checkout is as follows:

:pserver:anonymous@cvs.blender.org:/cvsroot/bf-blender
you then want to check out the following modules:
  • lib/windows
    blender
