Well, i am a beginer in blender, but I am no a 3d beguiner and I think the best thig for Blender 3 will be make other interface. I know people use it now said to me that when you know it will be ok, yes that's ok, like other 3d application, but I think that Blende 3 could make an interface like 3d max inteface, the 3d max interface is not better than actual blender, but if blender had a similar interface like 3d max I thin Blender community go up quickly because there is many people using a copy of 3d max without license and that people go to blende for sure, because they has the power of max, a similar interface and free.

sorry, maybe i miss understood you, but your saying you want the interface to be like 3d max, but the 3d max one isnt as good as the blender one.

for that to happen blender would need to impliment plugins, cause the max interface is empty with out them!!! :P :P :P

Hello adh3d,

if you are a beginner with blender as you say you are, then I would suggest spending a lot of time with the current interface. The interface as it currently is, is there with good reason; funtionality, speed, etc...

If you come from different 3d aplications the blender interface will look non-standard, but over time it 'grows on you'

Part of the interface is the general lay-out. If you wish, you can make a four-view setuo with a tool/menu bar to the right (like max).

Concerning blender 3, people may be thinking about it (wich is excellent) and the planning will start somewhere in a not too distant future.
When the planning starts, everyone should share there idea's (including yours adh3d) and give arguments for them being considered. When enough people are convinced of the use, practicallity (is that a word?) then maybe it can be done.

I for one prefer the current blender interface, you can customise it without it losing functionality

greetings

First of all, if the foundation is going to develope a new interface, first ask people whow it should look like. I used 3Ds Max over 2 years, and I quit with it because of it's awefull interface, and when I wanted to searhc around for a plugin or feature, it was like searching for a nail in a huge forest. So personally I use blender because it's interface is great, easy to understand and very userfriendly. :D

I explain meself bad, I like blender interface, this is one reason I am learnig blender, the thing I want to say is that in the pc 3d world max is an standar, you can like it or not, but it is a standar, cinema 4d has a very similar max interface, so if blender in anyway make easy people left max and go to blender that will good for blender community.

I have nothing against blender interface, it is only an idea.

I think the people who can already use 3d programs very well, are quickly adapted to Blender. People who want to learn 3d stuff can learn it easily with Blender, and that's very difficult with 3DSMax.
So I don't see the point of changing the interface for the worst.
Espescially because Blender isn't an open-source 3DSMax, but Blender.

standards don't imply there are good (see MS Office GUI). apart from that, i disagree that 3dsmax is a standard. blender has the freedom to give a sh** about standards and do it better. i also don't think that blender needs to mimic other software just to become more popular - it's like giving up it's own identity.

i'd rather see some more functionality and higher end animation tools - these, along with blenders streamlined interface, will make it even more competitive.

here i also disagree - first time 3d-ppl will have a hard time, regardless of the application. 3d-experienced ppl should be able to master any GUI of a new program within some days. i agree however, that mastering blender almost COMPLETELY is easier then any other high-end program (max/maya/xsi), simply because blender hasn't this huge armada of tools/functions/etc. i think this will be one of the great difficulties as blender evolves - packing all new features into the common blender GUI. But from what I've seen so far i'm confident that blender won't do wrong.

Well, yes, with easily I meant relatively easily. At the moment it's a little hard because all online tutorials are out of date, but time and the Blender book will fill that gap.

90% of the "hard" part of learning Blender WAS having to memorise the hotkeys.

That's over. Now Blender is easy. Come on, with the new menu system there are no more excuses.
