I´ve got the book yesterday too (Germany). And i must say that i´m dissapointed about the printing quality. Some pictures are not recognizable. What happened? Will the printer offer an exchange ?
Anyway, Ton and the other people who worked hard for making the book - the book itself is really a great work. And blender is the best...

Thanks a lot!

:D Good book in all.

a few issues with white out on print but i wouldent say they were indestiguisable ..... maybe a delux full colour maual for rich people I dunno.

good refrence book for me ..... infact excelent index is 2 pages out but thats no problem can find what i need much quicker.

Maybe i will help the documentation project when i have more time.

But i think its great and worth more than the price I payed

Definately very nice to have, however i think many who are completely new to blender may not be able to get through it? The description of the knife tool confused me a lot

There are a lot of spelling/grammer mistakes, words with no spacing between them, bold where there should not be bold, i even saw some words that were half bold? Some screenshots are so hard to see that i cannot get their meaning. Also the problem with the index page.

On a lighter note! I'm learning loads of things i didn't understand/know existed, and i find the book very useful.

I'm sorry - i know i shouldn't grumble and understand the grammer mistakes are down to different first languages. Really though, it's a great book and i'm very glad i have it (and tons signature :D ), just not polished.

Got it!

Just got the manual today! Again, I'm in Cherry Hill, New Jersey (US) so I suspect other East Coast people should be seeing theirs today as well.

Overall it is a high-quality book, and the screenshots look fine to me (people were complaining about them being to light?). Oh, and mine was not missing the CD - it's in the back cover, just like it's supposed to be. :D

BUT... no signature!! I was number 210 to order so I should have been included... Is the signature hidden somewhere, or what? The manual is still worth what I paid for it, and I definately plan on keeping it, signature or not. Still, I'm dissapointed there's no sig.

Um... did anyone else in the first 250 not get a signature?

blender-gasmic!!

I got mine (US, East Coast, Maine), autographed to boot (thanks Ton)!!

The screenshots in mine are WAY too light, and even the radiosity section with the BattleStar Gallactica Raider GI tut -- the images are aliased and bitty.

But that is not a big deal, I have this web site and access to the material.. No big deal. If i was going to use this as a classroom book I'd request they re-run the printing and offer better pictures.

Overall I am SUPER happy with finally having this book in my hand...

time to blend!!!

The images are a bit faded some are just gone . BUT eh... I am happy and have seen so much blender and enough of the gui that I know what it is talking about to not care about the image.

Happy ^v^ :D

It is smaller than I thought it would be. I really liked the 2.0 book . But this is still nice short of the crappy fadeness. Ton what were you thinking!

Thanks to Ton, Stefano and the whole team I know now from the book-content.!

I got it !

Looks big and exact and competent.
I think the layout is excellent!
The printing of the screen-cutoffs could be sometime better:
contrast is not yet gone but poor and I need a good focus to read and understand the screens I know from the past...

But this is for the next time! :)

My friends had a look into it and found such a lot of issues to think about and to learn!
And: they were astonished about the low price ...

But this is for the next time too ! :)

I am very happy now and have a good book for eastern.
Thanks again , and for Your sign, Ton!

regards
Helmuti

Thanks for the great manual!
It is a pity that the pictures are so bad. But I it is not so bad that we have to make a lot of troubles for Ton & Co. A pdf would be great though.
Great value for money,
/Alex
