Images from the new 3.2 guide in a downloadable file ?

Post by danifou » Fri Apr 02, 2004 6:56 pm

I got the book and it is amazing ! :D
Great work and many thanks to all involved.
Text is great, easy to understand and well presented :P

Would it be possible for those who received the first edition (now that a 2nd edition is planned) to download a file containing the images found in the book ?
I know that the images are on the CD but some of them doesn't correspond to what is found in the book)
I would like to get the same images as they were suppose to be in the book.

Thanks

Images were retaken for Book by DTP people :)

Now they are slowly being put back on the documentation CVS server

You can already access some there!

When it's done being put back in, how big will it be?

If it's very large (30+ meg) is it possible to either use -z9, or have a checkout done and then bzipped, so that It's not a hassle for us that have 56k to download?

Stefano, is the CVS documentation a softcopy equivalent of the Blender Guide?

Actually the DocBoard documentation should be more up-to-date than the material used for the book - if not now, for sure at a later point.

Dunno about size, we used grayscale images for the book and the print-ready files were 25 MB in overall size. I guess it would be a bit more with RGB images.
