Blender Splash needed!
Posted: Sun Aug 01, 2004 8:25 pm
One of the comments we had on the last release was the invisble way a Splash is being organized. That usually happened last minute when nobody really had time for it.
For this release, three active developers were choosen (Stivs, Hmetalcowgirl and Kester) who can give the votes for which splash it will be. (didnt get reaction from Kester yet though).
If this all works out acceptable, they can then appoint three new people for the next release.
Deadline is next tuesday august 3, CET night. Please post your proposals here, or on news & chat the forum in elysiun.
Here's a template photoshop file:

But now the artists are pushed to their limits, making the process much more satisfying!

I had done one splash . If that would be useful.
I dont have the font for the text so I just put the place holder for the text of earlier splash.
The apache is blender model and rendered, but text texture, background, the propeler movement, on it and some touch up was done in GIMP. If that makes it unusabe well..

Well, here are 3 splashes made from recent blends of mine:
The first 3 were expanded vertically a bit to fit the enough of the image. I sorta liked the label on the bottom, but i left it on the top on the 3rd one. I'm not sure which way i like better.
Tell me what you think

Just a note, please don't change the colours or layout of the template - It's a 'template' to try and keep a consistent look.
The new version will be 2.34 too, by the way
They're all looking great, going to be hard for the judges to choose!

alright, I updated my first splash to conform to the template better, and lowered the vertical expansion as much as i could.
hope that works!
