when will caustic effect be assistant in blender?

Hi Francal !

Well, improvements about caustics in Blender renderer have already started ! :wink: BlackMage have done a patch for Blender sources that support reflex and refrac caustics : http://www.elysiun.com/forum/viewtopic. ... ight=patch

When you patch it? :)

In the meantime you can use yafray for caustics.

Now before I try out this patch what does it do precisely? Does it have a few new buttons to it? and do you have screen shots of it.

That patch doesn't do caustics.

It does distributed raytracing (diffuse RT)
Adds some buttons to do soft shadows, soft reflections, soft tranparencies.
