Great news about Ink9000 integration. I hope it goes well.

I've found some great information on models for simulating pencil drawings which are listed below. Some dabbling with Python/Blender Open GL has had some interesting results:

- Different pencil types

- Free drawing tool

- My first pencil-rendered mesh

The technical stuff: ... pencil.pdf

Kewl, I was looking into the sources a few weeks ago, too, for integration, but having the author doing it is much better :)

Is the "Coding blender" forum a good place to start???
Yes, and do come over to #blendercoders at

Has anyone else seen this?

The demo is a bit unstable but the results are amazing. I tried using Blender's 3DS export script to export meshes but they wouldn't load into Freestyle. The site states that the sources will be released but they're not there yet. Best of all there is a Python interface for writing your own shader modules.

Now if whole Blender scenes could be exported to this NPR renderer...

Looks very interesting. Some of those examples I would never have thought was generated. On another note, has any heard any more from the developer
of Inkulator 9000?

Hi ronin@org
Theres not too much progress from me as Im backpacking around Europe at the moment (9 week holiday spending a redundancy cheque. Woohoo!!!!!). A couple of people have offered help so when I get home at the start of July Ill make all the code from my various experiments available.

I just checked the Freestyle link again and the CVS are now available...
