3DNP - a 3D viewer that needs no plugins

Post by thoro »

Hi,

some of you might have seen this on elYsiun, but maybe some missed it and might find it useful so I post it here, too ;).

3DNP is a free JavaScript based 3D viewer that comes with a Blender Python script to create a matching camera path:

You will find a demonstration and the full package on my website. Just grab the 3D object with your mouse and rotate it.

I plan to improve the Python Script within the next days, the Script will get a GUI and some parameters to become more flexible...

Cheers

This one is really cool! Though it needs a lot of images... But very, very, very useful for smaller things! :D

Great but samples on your website simply don't work for me under Linux+Mozilla 1.7.7 ...

Thanks for your comments, I'm happy that you like it.

3DNP 1.2 is out! You can download it from here:

I added a loading bar, a GUI for the 3DNP Python script, an English documentation and some new features...

Cheers

Hello agaqin

it looks even better...don't tried it yet
Can you do a little extra effort to make it work with Konqueror please?!
I see that you use "iframe" to place the viewer!
Maybe if we use a <DIV> tag Konqueror will work?!
Is it possible?
Thanks anyway

The IFrame is not causing the problems, I tested 3DNP without IFRames and it didn't help - reading the Buglist on Konqueror's website gave me a bad feeling about it :D.

I will try to find out what causes the problem on Saturday...

Update:

3DNP works in Konqueror now :D! ...updated the ZIP-file.

Knoppix is a very useful tool. By the way, Konqueror seems to be very slow compared to Firefox - just on my machine?

Actually it is vice versa over here. Well, doesn't mean that firefox is very slow - but is definitely slower than Konqueror even though I prefer Firefox. Don't know if it is a KDE problem in general or a Konqueror bug: Seems that Konqueror has a memory leak somewhere. But I could be wrong and it is something else.

Hehe, I guess the Knoppix CD I used to run Linux on my notebook did not use the appropriate drivers :D. I started it on my desktop machine and I agree, it's pretty fast there. I was just wondering because Firefox was much faster on the notebook...
