Hopefully in Blender 2.40 ... it would have been nice to have seen it as planned in 2.37, but I certainly understand the amount of work involved. I think though that the great animation re-work is scheduled for 2.4 which I believe will follow 2.37.

The best modeler I have seen so far is: "SILO 1.4"
Don't miss the videos.

Blender is not far from that type of modelling in Hexagon... I just think that Hexa's interface looks clearer, and widgets look as though they can do a lot more than simply moving stufff around... let's see what happens with blender 2.40....

One of the most impressive tool in Silo (watching the videos) is "Topology Brush". it's seems really usefull, especially to correct wrong edgeloops.

Don't you know you can control its size in the User Preference Menu, clicking on the "View & Control" button and adjust settings into "3D Transform Widgets" panel?

The doc is bundled with it,

the doc is a pdf file and has links to videos showing the action of particular features.
