Desaster's CVS blender for Windows

Post by Hos »

Well, this was a pain to do, but here you go:

http://bebop.cns.ualberta.ca/~cwant/blen_des_win2.zip

Please try it out, but bear in mind that this is beta
software -- it hasn't crashed yet here, but I had to
do some pretty bizarre stuff to get it to compile
on Windows. So use at your own risk, and I'd recommend
testing blend files between this version and the official
version occasionally to make sure they are compatible
(no problems here, but better safe then sorry).

Thanks to Rob/phase for writing the mousewheel patch for windows.

Here is the feature list:

P.S. Although mostly unrelated: if you happen to know any
good soundclips that have an emphasis on action rather than
dialog that could be used for the monkeyframers contest,
please submit them here:

Very cool to see! Good Work! I'm excited to work with some of the new features in Desasters CVS. So far it works great... I'll post if there are any issues.

compatibillity isn't exactly great. I opened a 2.25 file on this thingy and couldn't edit my material names....

still cool though :)

I'm not having this prob either.

Goofster: perhaps next time we see each other on irc you
can describe the prob more fully (step by step) or swing me
a blend with this prob ... thanks for reporting the issue!

Very odd! I seem to have had a similar problem too! The text cursor just wouldn't 'stick' in any of the places a text cursur could be placed (except the text/python) window. So I couldn't change names of anything, input numerical data via keyboard or even save the file with another name! Closing and restarting 'your' version seems to have solved the problem and so far I haven't been able to reproduce the problem again- Which makes it a bit frustrating... :?

That aside:

Wicked!!! :D Really nice features  Keep em coming :P

Thanks!
Merry Christmas!

Great work...thanks!
The boolean don't work. For example, a intersection of 2 sphere
take this :

Code: Select all

Debug Error

Program: C:\Programmi\blenderHOS\blendercreator.exe
DAMAGE: before Normal block (#8058) at 0x00EE6028
However...is a cool list of features...

I've a question: the autoskinning, a really usefull tool,
will be integrate in the official next release of Blender?
This is important for own project: a MakeHuman script.

I actually haven't tried blender booleans yet, but I have been
told that the cvs01 version od blender also does this.

I don't know ... and there are certainly no guarantees that it
will be. It would be interesting to see what the rules of
feature submissions will be.
Neato!
