I was somewhat surprised to see that the MD2 format was not supported in terms of importing and exporting, and I was simply wondering if this functionality was going to be added in future releases.

Somebody has already created a MD2 import and export script. You can download it here
. It was last updated in 2004, but I don't see any reason why it would work with the current version.

I think you mean that you see no reason why it would not work in 2.37. ( Or alot of reasons to assume that it works )
Can anyone confirm if it does or not? It looks pretty solid.

The current version does not import or export the OpenlGL command lists. Using the original code, I have a work in progress that does, but it still needs some work and is not hung on my site. Due to work, I don't have much time to devote to my website and my scripts. I do plan to go back and revamp everything for the latest version of blender, but finding the time isn't happening right now.
