Scene renders differently with 2.40 than in with 2.36: Bug?

Post by superzepf »

Hi,

today I tried Blender 2.40 for the first time. I noticed that the same scene is rendered differently now with Blender 2.40 than it was before with Blender 2.36.

Some things have thick black borders that shouldn't be there.

Here are two images of the same scene rendered with the two versions:

Rendered with Blender 2.36:

Rendered with Blender 2.40:

Could this be expected behavior and I have to change certain settings in the scene, or is it possible that this is a defect?

Thanks
Stephan

Turn off the edge button in the render panel. Maybe the setting is just stored differently or something.

Thanks for the hint with the edge button in the render panel. It is indeed switched on, and when I switch it off in 2.40 then the lines go away in the rendered output.

The interesting thing is that when I load the scene with 2.36, then the edge button is also switched on, but it obviously has no effect. So maybe this was not working correctly in 2.36, and later it was fixed.
