Is it possible to wraped text around a sphere like a mesh object?

How do I do that? I'm still kinda new to Blender. I know enough to work in it like some of the interface mainly a little bit in modelling and animation but I'm making logos for my friend and I need to learn more about manipulating Text.

Press alt+c once to convert to a curve and once again to convert to a mesh. These types of questions are better asked at http://blenderartists.org/forum/ by the way. This is the developers forum.
