I just saw that the makehuman team "finished" their new pose engine. It is fantastic, and would be huge if the rig can be exported along with shapes and weight painting etc. to Blender. But I'm not yet sure what microrotation technology is, so I'm a bit worried that we won't be able to export to Blender and animate.
actually, search for posts by toloban on blenderartists.org I posted the same thread there. He was previously involved with MH and he has Ideas of how to do it with python. You are right, can't export the rig, but the python could insert it's own rig and shape keys automatically, so says toloban. He's got a very near perfect shape keyed human, so he would be the one to be able to pull this off.
